March 1, 2026: Heads-down building and getting deeper into Claude Code and Agent Teams. Amazed by what I've gotten done in the last two months. Starting to notice the mental exhaustion and wear-and-tear this form of building takes.
If we haven't talked for a while, here's what I'm up to.
Took a hiatus from tech (and being an executive) starting in 2021. Wanted to spend a few years learning, teaching, and coaching. Mostly leadership and management. Did that. It was fun.
Started using early GenAI tools in that teaching work. When ChatGPT came out in late 2022, I started getting back into coding. I've really enjoyed it.
A lot of the bloat and complexity that made modern programming painful was alleviated by GenAI. I've been coding a lot for the last few years.
My time these days is spent:
- Working as a staff engineer/internal consultant for a large, international enterprise SaaS product. Focused mostly on data work. Supporting dev teams in the US, India, and South America.
- Experimenting with Claude Code and agentic dev tools. I'm in the camp that AI won't replace most professional developers, but it fundamentally changes the job and will turn all knowledge workers into managers of agents. Big fan, but still trying to figure it out.
- Exploring ways to compress the learning curve for new leaders from 2+ years to 3-6 months. I'll launch another iteration on this in the first half of 2026. This is a lot of C# and AI, both LLMs and general models. Specifically, I'm working on an agentic editorial pipeline that uses curriculum and tools I've built over the last five years.
- Starting this blog. I need a place for myself on the web. It needs to encompass all of my interests instead of having a bunch of things scattered about. Want to make it easier to keep up with people and share helpful things.
- Moving off the cloud and onto Linux. I've enjoyed rebuilding my home lab and public hosting on Linux. Just wanted more flexibility without having to spin up app services all of the time.
